Promoting Word Study
In Philippians 4:8 ASV the bible says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” In the same vain, I watch a lot of musicals and old cartoons that promote good habits and moral conduct and a positive mental attitude. Giving my attention to these types of media allow my not to worry and to keep moving forward.
It is such a blessing when you start to see yourself in Jesus and Him in you. You would think that reducing the amount of information you receive would be harmful to you. But when you think of history, you realize the information is a great lifeline. But the smartest people are rarely the victors. It is because they reason their way right out of blessings. They, at times, have limited imaginations because they believe that facts should be their guiding force.
But have you ever heard of The Law of Attractions. It is the idea the like attracts like or positive thought attract positive things. Likewise, negative thoughts would attract more of the same. So say I am watching the news someone in my neighborhood was robbed. Now I start to be concerned for my safety. I install an alarm. I talk to family and friends about the events that have transpired. I keep a close eye on the news for updates on the situation.
What you focus on becomes your reality. But this is real, you say. This is something I need to protect myself and my family from. I agree. Do what you think is right all the while proclaiming Psalm 91:10 ASV “no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.” Take the time to mediate on this statement or one like this, day dream about your family living in safety all the days on their lives and put your faith in God’s ability to protect you.
